Eagles junior goalie Billy Thompson earned KBCsports.com Player of the Game honors with an impressive shutout.
The Santa Monica Vikings defeated the Poway Titans in a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory that was broadcast live on KBCSports.com. Juan Magana scored the overtime goal for Santa Monica that gave the Vikings the Division I CIF Southern California Regional boys soccer title.
After a scoreless first half, the Long Beach Wilson Bruins rebounded to score three goals in the second half to shutout the Thousand Oaks Lancers 3-0 and capture the first Division I Southern California Regional Championship in girls soccer.
The Bruins broke the deadlock at the 51-minute mark with Senior Samantha Baker’s shot from 20 yards out to beat the Lancer goalie to the outside right post. Baker earned KBCsports.com player of the game honors for her efforts.
Freshman Kaylie Davidson did all the scoring for the Bishop's Knights Girls Soccer team in their Division III SoCal Regional title game over Oaks Christian 2-0.
