Vacaville didn't have the lead until 5:05 left to play in the Division II Championship game in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II Championship game, then held on to defeat the defending state champion Folsom Bulldogs 39-35.
Folsom lead 28-20 at halftime after a crazy second quarter that saw six touchdowns, including a 99-yard touchdown pass from Folsom QB Tanner Trosin to J'Juan Mudrow, which was followed by a 98-yard touchdown return on the ensuing kickoff by Vacaville senior Jacob Te'o.
The teams traded blows in the third quarter. Troisin scored on a two-yard touchdown run that gave Folsom its largest lead of the game at 35-26. That would be the last time Folsom reached the end zone. Senior Terrance Trueblood scored on a 26-yard touchdown run but the two-point conversion failed and Vacaville trailed 35-33. After a key interception made by sophomore Daniel Newborn deap in there own territory, Vacaville scored on a two-yard touchdown run by Melvin Mason, capping off a 90-yard, eight minute scoring drive. Folsom would have one last drive but turned the ball over on downs inside the Vacaville 25-yard line. It was Vacaville's first Section title since 2006.
